Rule Breaker

I can't believe that I am writing this post.

I am the girl that is the firmest believer in the Labor Day-Easter rule: No white, no linen, no seersucker. No ifs, ands, or buts.

But I think it might be time to be a rule breaker... somewhat. What do you need for fall? Why a little white dress of course.

I am THRILLED that Blair from Atlantic-Pacific agrees with me...

And wait, Taylor from Sterling Style does as well...

My friend Sus gave me this French Connection dress which I wore to her rehearsal...
(Hooray for being 5'4" with 5'10 friends. Why yes I will take your too short dresses.)

And I paired it with my favorite black pumps...

From Husband's grandmother's closet. Vintage and I love.
(Wow- do I buy any of my own clothes?)

Happy First Birthday Winnie!

Yes, yes, my youngest fur baby is one! Actually, she was one last Friday, but we are celebrating it today due to the craziness of this past weekend. As I have said before, my dogs are so important to me. I love them, they are my family. My Winnie has changed so much in her first year. (Most obviously in weight- 8 lbs to 65 lbs.)

So let's see how Winnie has changed in the past year. The night we brought her home...

Wedding Weekend...It Is Finished

I am typing this blog with one eye open, the other catching up on the sleep I have been needing since Wednesday night. But today, it is finished.

Susannah and Alex are married and it could not have been a more special day. My camera was with me for about 15% of the events, but I will share with you what I have.

Wednesday night was a mani/pedi/dinner party...

The B2B with the flower girl, Joie Beth...aka JoJo. I use to think I wanted to have all boys. Then I met JoJo. Completely. Obsessed.

Yum Yum- no party without food

Thursday night, our friends the de Mayo's hosted a party to celebrate the upcoming weekend. I could kick myself for not bringing my camera. The party was amazing, and the 19 of us that went to Miami were reunited once again.

Friday morning was the Bridesmaid Luncheon. It was so beautiful.

The back porch overlooked an amazing backyard.

Bethany modeled part of our gifts :)

The Twins!- Sus and Laura

Erica and Tippi

And yes, that is where the photos end. (Even though, there was still the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, rehearsal dance party, wedding, reception, and impromptu gathering at The Mansion.) I cannot wait to see and share more photos. Congratulations Sus and Alex. I love you both so much!

Blog Crush: The Man Repeller

One of the funniest fashion blogs I have ever read is courtesy of The Man Repeller (real name: Leandra Medine.)

I adore her style...

And still find her hilarious...

Her pretty-funny girl demeanor is perfection. Check out Fashionista's site to read and watch her interview.

With the craziness of this weekend, I will not be posting tomorrow. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and I cannot wait to show you pictures on Monday!

Wedding Week

Although my friend Susannah's wedding week officially began on Sunday, my partaking officially begin today with a girls Manicure and Pedicure party! Recently, I got my first pedicure in over a year (gross, but true.) This will be my first manicure in a year too. (Again, gross, but true.) Special "Thank You" to Tippi for organizing tonight. I know it is going to be so much fun!!

Onto my next random subject, look how great Anna Faris looked at the premiere of What's Your Number?

Cannot wait for this movie! Watch the trailer here.

Way To Go Mom!

Thanks Mom for scoring me some Missoni for Target!!!!
(Hooray that Prattville does not know/care about Missoni. I do.)

As well as these cute leopard flats...

I can cross them off my list :)

It Is Great To Be Eight(y)

This weekend, I had the joy of celebrating my Maw-Maw's 80th Birthday. Yes, earlier this year my other grandmother turned 100. You can read about it here. And yes (all you mathematicians), my grandmothers are twenty years apart. Strange? Yes. Amazing? Yes. I am one lucky lady.

Before I begin my montage of pictures, I have to give you a little info on Maw-Maw. Growing up, I lived in the same house from birth until I went to college. Just around the corner lived Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw. So yes they were my grandparents, but they were so much more too.

They were who I saw everyday when I got off the school bus. Their home greeted me with oatmeal cookies and sweat tea (a nutritionist's dream.) It is where I learned how to feed a cow, and later on, catch catfish. (You guessed it- we lived in the country.) They once kept a stray dog for us, because my parents wouldn't allow one. And Maw-Maw taught me about style and fashion- always letting me dress up in her jewelry and shoes. Their home gave me some of my favorite childhood memories.

We took over twenty family shots. This was the best one. Typical.
Where is my Paw-Paw? Oh, in Heaven looking down on us :) He was informing us that this was going to never work, and we should probably be watching football.

I get it. I'm bossy.

Hubs and Me.

Maw-Maw and her great-grandkids. My nephew and niece were being very sociable.

Birthday Wishing Tree

All the tables had facts about 1931. I come from a creative family. I did not inherit the gene.

Love this picture. It was taken during my softball days. Don't I look athletic? (Those days did not last long.) Even though I was much better at picking weeds in the outfield than catching a ball, those two came to watch me "play."

Taken at my parents' wedding. People should still wear "wedding gloves."

Apparently, the whole community came. As you can see in the above picture, I met myself in 50 years. Leopard wheelchair bag and all.

Sister and I find it very fun to take pictures of each other.

Leigh Ann (Sister-In-Law), Me, and Emma (Sister)
(Note: We didn't mean to wear Auburn colors. Don't worry, it didn't bring them any luck)

Maw-Maw and her friends raging.

I promised my mom that I wouldn't take just a bunch of pictures of my nieces and nephew.
I lied.

Maw-Maw, I hope you had the best birthday ever. I am so lucky to have you as my grandmother. Thank you for the countless dance recitals, softball/ weed picking games, football games (to watch me cheer, not play in), award ceremonies, and graduations you came to. I love you more than I could ever tell you.
