Like It, Love It, Gotta Have It, Etc?

1. I hate this weather with a passion. I cannot believe that I am seeing snow flurries the week before Spring Break. Get out of here you yuck weather!

2. I know, I have been a slacking blogger. Oh, and most of my posts are about Woody. He keeps me quite busy, and when I have time to myself, I think a lot about him. Motherhood. Truth.

3. But I obsess over other things too...

Like It:

I want two accordion lamps on the sides of my bed. These are perfection.

Love It:

I know this has a source somewhere, but I just can't find it. But source, whoever you are, you are genius.  There is not one thing I dislike about this room. And my love for Scalamandre wallpaper needs no words.

Gotta Have It:

Cause this Baby Momma is wearing a one-piece this summer. I earned my one-piece rights. And this one is awesome.

And because we need an extra dose of perfection today, let's all dream about....

I just need two shams. The total comes to $1430 (before taxes and shipping.) I know you are filling your carts.

Happy Tuesday! Ugh...

Catherine's Baby Shower

On of my dear co-workers, Catherine, is welcoming a sweet baby girl in less than two weeks. I was excited to help host a baby shower.

I completely hijacked this idea from my own baby shower. It is a build your own salad idea. I just loved it because it meant I didn't have to prepare/cook/bake anything.

Sister made this banner. Isn't it incredible. She does awesome, custom party supplies if you are in need!

The lovely Momma.

Our teaching crew. Excuse the fact that my baby has no clothes on. Brooks had taken him on a run during the shower, and it got really hot outside.

Woody- Eight Months

Woody Facts

  • Weight: Heavy? We go to the doctor next month.
  • Diaper Size: 3
  • Clothing: 9-12 month
  • Sleep: 2-3 naps a day. If he misses a nap, it is usually him morning nap. Sometimes he is just to busy playing to nap. He goes to bed between 7:00-8:00 pm, wakes around 4:00 am , and for good around 7:00am.
  • Eat: We are now on Stage 2 baby foods. I quit making his baby food. The fruits weren't so bad, but the vegetables took forever and made Woody gag. (It is official, I really AM a bad cook.) However, he can eat forever, and he eats everything. He is very sad when the food runs out. Along with his baby food, he gets a bottle around 9:00, and I feed him at lunch (though he usually falls asleep during this feeding, so he doesn't eat much), around 4:00 pm, bedtime, and his 4:00 am wake-up.
  • He loves Puffs. It is so funny to watch him grab and cram them into his mouth.
  • Still just two teeth on the bottom.
  • He is crawling everywhere...and he is fast!!!
  • In the last month, he has begun to pull up on everything. He is brave and will let go of holding on, but falls down.
  • Says Da-Da all the time. Ma-Ma has ended. Everyone is Da-Da.
  • Can almost clap. He moves his arms, but his hands miss.
  • Gah, his skin. It is awful. I have never seen such dry skin on a baby :( I am hoping that next month the doctor will give me some advice/better lotion. We have tried everything over the counter.
  • As he is going to bed, he scratches the back of his head. (That is how we know he is tired.) Despite keeping his nails very trimmed, he sometimes scratches it up. It looks like a cat tried to attack him from behind.
  • His favorite toys are board books and remotes. He also is very found of paper and things that rattle. (Cheap date.)
  • He smiles so much. I love it. I hope he is always a happy/smiley/friendly kid.

Woody's Baptism

This past Sunday, Woody was baptized. It was such a special ceremony, and afterwards, we enjoyed a beautiful brunch at my cousin's home.

When I scheduled this, I totally did not realize it was Daylight Savings Sunday. I was terrified that we would not wake up in time. So being the paranoid person I am, I was up at 5:45 am....when we didn't have to be there until 9:30 am. I also was scared that I was going to forget something super important, like the camera.

Well, well, well, I did remember the camera. I just forgot to charge the dead battery. Wah wah.

Luckily, the church had a photographer, and my sister snapped pictures of the brunch. Here are some shots from my phone, so forgive the quality.

Our buddies, Cameron and Melissa snapped these two above. Thanks guys!!

Before the service

With my cousin and hostess, Becky, her husband, Howard, and his parents, Jane and Bill. They are all such wonderful and kind people.

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things (right now)

1.
I really love orange juice. I drink it all through the day and mix it with a smoothie for breakfast. However, OJ  typically has a lot of calories. Trop50 is 50% less calories and sugar and tastes really good. Two thumbs up.

2.

When I was pregnant with Woody, my hair became super dry, especially my ends. This was recommended to me, and now it is my favorite, cannot-live-without hairproduct. It detangles my hair when wet and adds shine to dry hair. Normally I just do drug store hair care supplies, but this is definitely worth the extra money.

3.

I usually just wear chapstick to school, but after a holiday party, I decided I needed some zhush lipstick. I love this color and wear it all the time. It just makes me feel better. It lasts a long time and is inexpensive. Score. Score.

4.

And this guy! He is definitely one of my most favorite things!
