Let's Look at Woody :)

Because it is my favorite thing to do...

Brooks took the camper top off his truck to clean. Woody thought it was super fun and redneck to play in the back of the truck.

Look at this crew! After Woody's birthday party (more on that later), my parents took their four grand kids, Brooks, and me to the Georgia Aquarium. Such a frame-worthy photo right?

We went to Woody's pal, Jackson's, 3rd birthday party. Not sure if Woody trusts his dad and swings.

Playing with his buddy, Burke, after the party

He chased down a lost Cheerio on afternoon and got stuck.

Daredevil! This occurred while his father was watching him....

He was quite tired from the mess he made.

New flavor of yogurt. Not impressed.

We had Woody's super amazing birthday party at the end of July? Why was it super amazing? Because all I had to do was make the party favors. My talented sister did all of the decorations and my talented friend, Tippi made the cupcakes. Am I lucky or what?! Sister also offered to be the photographer, because we all know how well I do at documenting importing things. The link to Woody's party photos is here.

Random, Crazy, Jumbled Mess

The title describes two things: a.) my life b.) this post.

Let's Begin...

1. After a chat with my mom, we have decided Woody can grow up....but only to be a good guy. Good guys send you a huge flower arrangement when you come home from work in tears. They bring home dinner, vacuum, do dishes, and entertain babies. Thanks Hubs, you really are awesome.

2. Speaking of Woody, I mean, tell me you don't melt??!! He is 13 months people. I cannot even handle it.

3. I love this outfit. I have no idea on the source, sorry. This dress needs to be on me, like yesterday. Of course, a smidge longer to make it teacher appropriate.

(Girl Crush!)

4. Big, no HUGE, thank you to those of you who have sent me sweet e-mails, texts, phone calls or have just said a little prayer for me this past week. Some days are easier than others, but the good thing about days are that you face one at a time and bad ones end.

And if you are feeling discouraged, I leave you with my new favorite verse.

But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.

First Day? Check.

I made it. I got through my first day back as a full-time homeroom teacher. And even though I had some questionable language and actions from a few questionable students, it was a good day. It made for even better stories when I got home. Now my biggest fear is one day he will become one...

Don't grow up. K?

Back to School

Although I have been at school for seven full days, tomorrow the children come. I have been throwing on the first thing I find that is cleaned and doesn't need to ironed, but tomorrow's outfit has been carefully chosen, just as it has been since I was in kindergarten. Every night, I have had no problem falling fast asleep, but tonight I will lie awake doing a mental check of tomorrow's to-do list. For the past weeks, I have avoided the back to school aisle at Target, but today I relished in watching the children cross out their supply lists.

Tomorrow begins my sixth year of teaching. I think this sums up my feelings.

Amen.

I'm Here.

I promise. And everything is going well. I am just a slight bit overwhelmed with not only going back to work full time, but I kinda forgot what being a homeroom teacher means! Shout out to my amazing husband who has picked up dinner every night, cleaned, done laundry, and has basically been a single dad to Woody.

I will get my life together though, post pictures of my son, and maybe post a photo of a cute outfit. Maybe.

Thank you for your patience!
