Normally I find designer collaborations for kid clothes annoying and unfair. (Yeah, so I might have tried to fit into a XL Stella McCartney for Gap Kids jacket that I am still a little bitter about.)
However, with the pending arrival of my own little bean, I am trilled that one of my fashion favorites, Diane von Furstenburg (a lady who loves leopard as much as me) is collaborating with GAP Kids. I may or may not have a full online shopping bag. I mean, Baby Harvard definitely needs some wrap dresses.
Jammer, if you are a boy, apologies. You are getting the glasses regardless.
I was all ready to type a blog yesterday recapping my weekend...only to get to school and realize the Internet was down. Do you know how hard it is to teach with no Internet?
Anyway, back to my weekend. My parents came to visit! Living in Atlanta, I don't see my parents as much as I want. To make it harder, my brother and sister live much closer to my parents. However, it makes when they come very special.
Saturday we headed out to Ikea. Epic. Fail. (for me, total score for my parents) I did not find- a.) pillow covers b.) a soft, fabric mobile c.) fabric d.) a rocking chair. Bummer.
We left to head to fabric stores (Dad was thrilled) only to be completely overwhelmed and under prepared. I may have had a break down in the parking lot.
But things began to look up! Mom and I ditched Dad to go clothes shopping- something I know I am good at. It was so wonderful to talk and catch up with my mom. And we found some great deals!!
When they left on Sunday, Husband and I went chair shopping. After four stores and a slight panic attack knowing it would take 14 weeks delivery, we found this chair!
Kermit is breaking it in. It met all my requirements
1.) Wasn't super expensive
2.) Had a great fabric
3.) Didn't look babyish
4.) Was in stock
Thank you so much Mom and Dad for this chair and a fantastic weekend!
It is going to be a GREAT Friday because after poking, prodding, drinking ice cold orange juice, lying on my left side, and shinning a flash light on my belly (I'm going to be an awesome mom) I FELT JAMMER MOVE. People, I am 23 weeks pregnant and beginning to resemble a snowman, but still had not felt Jammer move. The doctor's kept telling me it was because how shim was positioned, but it was very frustrating. Jammer really got to moving at about 4:30 this morning- so I stayed awake in amazement of this little gymnast inside me.
Second, let's go shopping! Deal of the Day!! There is no denying my love of sequins and glitter. I love a little sparkle, especially in the winter. This amazing tiger print sequin is on sale, and the perfect purchase for when I am not carrying around these extra lbs. (Let's hope I can wear it this winter...not next.)
Husband is really wanting me to go watch one of his bike races in May. It is 24 hours long, which means we would drive up Friday night, and not return until Sunday afternoon. I am thinking it it going to be doubtful, UNLESS...
The recent intake of prenatal vitamins has my hair growing...a lot. It is thicker than it has ever been, but it also looks really unhealthy. (What about this glow I am supporse to have?!) I do plan on getting a trim, but I do not want to take too much off because I know my hormones will tell me how awful it is and how much I hate it.
I normally buy cheap shampoo/conditioner, but I have broken down and bought two seperate bottles of expensive conditioner. Unfortunately, they both bombed.
So, do you have a conditioner that works really well for
I had one of those perfect weekends. It was a perfect mixture of rest, fun, and actually putting a dent in my to-do list.
On Friday night, Husband and I babysat this little guy.
He was such a fantastic kid. He never cried- not even when his mom left, when we had to come in from our walk, bedtime, never. (I told Husband that there was no way our kid would ever be close to being that good.)
Saturday, I decided to celebrate a little St. Patty's at our friend, Will's. (Only slightly bummed that I did not get to participate in the intense dodgeball game.) We left at 6:30, got home and slept until 8:00 the next morning!!! UH-mazing!
On Sunday came church, an intense cleaning of the house, and finally finding the perfect shade of gilver for Jammer's dresser.
As I venture out to my first children's consignment sale tonight (for a child who's gender remains a mystery), I am intrigued by the "second time around" idea. I have found in my day some great deals for myself at my local Goodwill, but I just can't do the things that look like they are on their second time around (or third or fourth.)
Shopaholics Recycle takes care of this. Long story short, Katrina Weber and Elizabeth Ramirez started this company as a way to clean out their very fashionable, high-end closets, including many items that still had price tags attached to them. Shopaholics Recycle has some great deals, and I love how up-to-date they keep the site. I am eyeing many pieces- look at these deals!
This daylight savings thing has me all messed up. I tried going to bed early..only to stay up until 12:30 thinking of all the things I should have done on those workdays I had on Thursday and Friday. Typical.
This week is going to be a bit crazy, so I doubt daily blog posts will be made. Why so crazy? Field Trip. 5th Graders. Zoo. Help. Me.
In a Pinterest-Daze, I cam across a new site that has me so excited to use. Let me introduce you to Jane...actually Very Jane. Although I couldn't find an "About Page" it is like Groupon and Etsy put their heads together and created this site. I am in love- especially since I am not very talented in the craft department, and custom items are usually expensive. Take a look at the current deals.
I survived one of the longest, hardest days yesterday. Nothing to tragic, just hard.
Only to come home (at 6-ugh) to realize Husband had a board dinner that kept us out until ten. (I'm usually in my REM cycle by 10:00.)
I am here though- ready for Thursday. I found this picture on Bippity Boppity Boo (the ultimate cheer you up site) is really making me smile. So no fashion, pregnancy, or teaching update- just working for the weekend :)
