Speaking of percents- I have had a fun time teaching my fifth graders percents. They have calculated all my Christmas savings. 

One student had to calculate 10% of $14.50. When he saw that my savings were only $1.45, he informed me I should ask for 20% off instead.

Old Navy?

When I think about Old Navy, fashion is sometimes not the first word that comes into my head. Instead, I think of annoying jingles and fleece.

However, my mind was changes when I visited my local Old Navy store after my friend, Bethany, posted about these boots and the fact that they were only $25! I found so much other stuff that I LOVED! And guess what, it didn't break the bank!!

The great thing is, you don't have to spend a lot either. I loved this Michael Kors dress. However, the $1,795 price tag was a massive deterrent. (It is a bad sign when you know that even if the dress was 80%, you still couldn't afford it.)

Never to fear, I found this similar dress at Macy's, that is over 97% less than the cost of this lovely Michael Kors dress. Why splurge, when you can save!

J's Everyday Fashion

Teacher has a new obsession.

As much as I love working on my own blog, I REALLY love blog stalking others. (It has replaced my Facebook stalking.) My dear friend, Sus (talked about here and here), introduced me to my newest obsession- J....and her Everyday Fashion.

J is getting mad respect from me. I hate flipping through fashion magazines and blogs where all the items cost as much as my monthly paycheck. (Sorry guys, I am no Carrie Bradshaw- a starving writer yet purchases Manolos like they are tic tacs. I am a starving teacher who can't afford to window shop .)  J., instead, focuses on pieces that are actually affordable, from stores such as Gap, Forever 21, and H&M to name a few.

She doesn't so much copy the looks exactly, but uses what she already owns to create a similar look to fit her personal style and body type.

Missoni for Target

Being that I love all things 70s, I literally shrieked when I found out that Missoni was collaborating with Target. I believe that this will be my favorite Target collaboration to date (sorry Calypso St. Barth.) I plan on being one of those scary/psycho people that camp outside of Wal-Mart on Black Friday the day that this hits Target stores.

Rock & Republic has been a favorite of many (including me!) Easy on the wallet- Kohl's, has bought the rights to the posh line, and so those iconic "R's" will be seen exclusively at Kohls and Kohls.com in Spring of 2012.

Morning! I hope you had a great weekend, despite the YUCK weather. You know you had a great weekend when you play two games of LIFE until three in the morning... it happens.

Recently, my mother called me to tell me to visit one of our favorite blogs- Fly Through Our Window. It's author, Darby, had found this delightful, little Norma Kamali dress at Wal-Mart for $18.00. I was very impressed with this dress, so I decided to take a little journey to Walmart.com, to look for myself.
