Annalynne McCord's Look for Less
I am obsessing over how chic Annalynne McCord is looking lately. Why, yes ma'am, she has had some flops (see here), but she is redeeming herself with this look...

Happy Memorial Day!
Happy Memorial Day! I have much enjoyed my extra long weekend. I am enjoying it even more now that Husband is back from his 24 hour Mountain Bike Race.
I hope you get to enjoy a relaxing day as well! As we eat, swim, and spend time with our families, please remember the importance of this day.

The American Hero
By: Roger Robicheau
The American Hero always comes through
To capture our hearts with a spirit so true
To capture our hearts with a spirit so true
Some proudly are soldiers who march in harm’s way
Insuring our freedom, courageous they stay
Insuring our freedom, courageous they stay
While others come forth as civilians so brave
Determined in purpose, so steadfast to save
Determined in purpose, so steadfast to save
We should always keep clear a place in our heart
For each has a value beyond precious art
For each has a value beyond precious art
Their duty to country will not be surpassed
Please honor their courage, for some it’s their last
Please honor their courage, for some it’s their last
We live in a world which can be hard to bear
Thank God for these people, how greatly they care
Thank God for these people, how greatly they care
Do ponder new heroes and what they will face
And pray for their safety no matter their place
And pray for their safety no matter their place
Our heritage brings out the best, we all know
Our great book of heroes is destined to grow
Our great book of heroes is destined to grow

Friday's Deal of the Day
I recieved a complaint that nobody cares about the last day of school...sigh.
So....Friday's Deal of the Day!!
Great wedges are a staple for summer. They give you height (yells the barely 5'4" girl) without making you feel like you are standing on a crochet needle. You can wear them from day to night. Wedges go with everything too. Throw them on with shorts, a skirt, dress, skinnies, whatever!
Now feast your eyes on these...

The Last Day
Today is the last day with my students.
It is a bit surreal that I am finishing my third year of teaching. I still remember my first day of my first year. I stood in front of a classroom of children and thought- Now what do I do?
Teaching is such a funny thing. There are so many ups and downs. So many times when I question- What is the point of this? And then the gratification of when I can answer my own question.
There are times when I want to get a running start and jump out of my third floor window, and in the next second, throw my arms around a student because they need it.
Sometimes I swear I am a stuck record, but love when my students finish my sentences.
Great. I sound schizophrenic. (I have been accused of having "two voices.") One thing I know for certain... I am exhausted. Therefore, this weekend, I shall shop.

Katie Holmes Look for Less
I feel that Katie Homes has had some major hits and misses in fashion. However, I am L-O-V-I-N-G this look (including her shiny, glossy hair....sigh)
Now, Katie's Look for Less. The pencil skirt is a little more than I would normally spend, but two years ago, I bought an orange pencil skirt and consider it a staple in my closet. It is a nice spin on the basic black pencil skirt.

I Dig
I am working very hard to appreciate all the great things in my life.
Right now, I dig....
The B-E-A-UTIFUL hydrangeas just outside my door. They almost look fake.
Pops. My pal (Laura) introduced these to me. I AM ADDICTED. And I can eat 22, and have only consumed 120 calories.

Dress- Zara; Necklace- Loehmann's
Color blocking. This was my ensemble to my friend's (Sus) engagement party.

From Left: Jessica, Alli, Me, Amy, Ian
Amazing coworkers.
The exact mirror I was looking for to complete the new bathroom.
From Recess- what a great cartoon
Hallelujah- school is out on Friday. The days are moving like molasses.
What I am not digging?
Husband bought an anto-gravity lawn chair and insists on keeping it in the living room. I'm giving him until midnight for it to find a new home.

Rock & Republic + Kohl's = Yes Ma'am
Rock & Republic has been a favorite of many (including me!) Easy on the wallet- Kohl's, has bought the rights to the posh line, and so those iconic "R's" will be seen exclusively at Kohls and Kohls.com in Spring of 2012.
Very exciting!

Crafty Sister
Sister and I are very different. One big way: crafting. My parents' Christmas tree is plauged with my misfit ornaments.
They only thing I have created with a glue gun is a second degree burn. Pretty sure Sister could have prevented the Titanic disaster with one.
Her lastest projects have involved party planning.
My aplogies Beans.

Crafty Sister! You should have seen Jake's birthday parties! I feel bad for my future Beans. They will have to accept this:

Mullishmuse
One day, while exploring the world of Etsy in the search of something vintage or hand-made, I came across a peculiar little hobby. Finger Puppets. However, these were not the common finger puppets of cows, chickens, and Farmer Brown. No, these were the puppets of influential icons.
How fun would it be to teach children about Donald Trump??
Or the lovely and fashionable Anna Wintour?
Willie Nelson might get a little tricky.

What a perfect gift for Will and Kate!
These might be a birthday gift for Husband and his BF Tim. They actually made me go to this "interesting" concert.

Dramatic Draping
Recently, I came upon this chic look from Burberry's Spring 2011 RTW line. I'm swooning over this look.
My favorite part is the draping of the skirt, which naturally, made me go, "I HAVE TO HAVE THIS!" I figure the key with draping is very careful sizing. Nobody likes skin tight drapes, but going a size up can add bulk. However, this slight change to the "work skirt" is very fun!

Help UA...Get a Cute Top.... WIN WIN
(Sorry, this post was originally poster on Thursday, before BLOGGER CRASHED! It is finally back up though! Happy Day!!)
First of all, so glad America (or at least PEOPLE) agrees with me. See here. Thank you Susannah, for pointing this out, so I know that I won't be the only one showing up to the support group.
Second, in honor of my mother's birthday, I went to the public library to get my first library card since I was ten. (BTW- Mom was a librarian. The few, the proud.) I was making a mental list of my summer reads when they DENIED ME MY CARD! Apparently, I have to have proof that I reside in Fulton County, and I have been a tad delinquent in updating my driver's license. (Reason for the Delay? My license picture is a fantastic picture, and I don't want to change it.) I feel extremely rejected by my mother's people.
Finally, to my point. I was visiting one of my favorite blogs The Southern Eclectic, which lead me to the cute-to-boot blog, The Company She Keeps. And that is where I found out about this...

Rappy Rirthday Rana! Woof Woof
Today is Mom's birthday! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Sister always has Jake posing with signs for our parents' birthdays (as seen here and here, here, yes here, and don't forget here.) Lucy and Winnie really got into the spirit this year.
I am sorry, Mom, that I do not have Flesh Grandchildren for you, but I know that you love your Fur Grandchildren too. AND THEY LOVE YOU! I hope you have a great day, and we cannot wait to see you.
Then Winnie ate the sign. Typical.
