Some of my Favies

Here is a bunch of my favorite things lately. Don't worry, they are all cheap!

In the winter, my ends get really dry (while my scalp stays oily.)After I get out of the shower, I give my hair a few squirts of this, and it makes my hair super soft! It smells like the beach too...which is nice when it is freezing here.

I have never had full lips to begin with, so I need to wear lipstick all the time. The problem is that it is gone in 30 minutes. Not this stuff. It sticks, And then add the gloss and your are good to go! I really like this color. It says "natural" but I think it is a tad darker than natural. It is a nice berry color.

I rarely have time to read things other than USWeekly, so when my MOPS group had this author come speak, I wasn't super excited about trying to carve out time for reading things other than celebrity gossip. Then I heard Courtney, and she is amazing. And her book is amazing!

When I was teaching, I had some great lectures. And by great, I mean that my kids completely tuned me out. Surprise, surprise telling children to be kind doesn't make them kind. Saying to them that it is hurtful to bully- they don't care. Preaching about honestly? They will lie as they mumble how they won't do it again. Courtney's whole book is about having more fun with your children and less lectures. She writes tips and activities that you can do with your children to teach those precious virtues we want our children to learn.

Also, she breaks it up into a virtue a month. So (if you are like me), and reading an entire book is seems impossible, you can just do a chapter at a time. A great read for moms and teachers!

I know I have said this before, but I rarely by my kids clothes. Mimi introduced me to this line from REI, and I am OBSESSED! My kids love to wear them. The are soft and really comfortable for lounging around the house. Also, you can wear it forever!

It started when Mimi got Woody the suit for his first winter. It is a size 6 months, and he wore it his first winter (age 4-8 months), his second winter (when we was normally in a 12-18 month), and now Gaines wears it (he is normally in a 12-18 month.)

Gaines

It stretches like you would believe! Now Woody has the pants.

Don't ask about the shoes. To have a limited vocabulary, he can be quite opinionated.

Snips and Snails and other Ramblings

Over Spring Break, I went to see my sweet friend Jessica and her new baby, Burke. I was accompanied by my other sweet friend Alli and her little boy, Jackson. I couldn't help but wonder if my little Jammer would be another buddy in their crew...or the girl they fight over :)

In other news, I cannot explain how happy I am that it is Friday. I am fighting a nasty cold that has Jammer and I none too pleased. Being in a class with students who are fighting the same colds (and an apparent stye outbreak?) doesn't help.

Also, my school baby shower is tomorrow. This will be my first shower, and I cannot wait!! Happy Friday :)

DVF for Gap Kids

Normally I find designer collaborations for kid clothes annoying and unfair. (Yeah, so I might have tried to fit into a XL Stella McCartney for Gap Kids jacket that I am still a little bitter about.)

However, with the pending arrival of my own little bean, I am trilled that one of my fashion favorites, Diane von Furstenburg (a lady who loves leopard as much as me) is collaborating with GAP Kids. I may or may not have a full online shopping bag. I mean, Baby Harvard definitely needs some wrap dresses.

Jammer, if you are a boy, apologies. You are getting the glasses regardless.

Gnome One Else I Would Rather Be

As you saw yesterday, I proudly wore my garden gnome ensemble to Helen, GA over the weekend.

I checked at Urban Grace, and literally squealed when I saw that her precious daughter was a gnome too!

But then I realized...gnome costume on a two year old=adorable. Gnome outfit complete with beard on a twenty-five year old=terrifying. Ah, Whatev.

I am considering mailing my costume to my wee gnome pal,she can totally rock it in twenty years. (Only if she wears the beard.)

Twins, right?

Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Mini Line For Target

Ultra cool rocker/designer/mom, Gwen Stefani, is bringing the cool to you on November 13. Few things I love more than a Target collaboration. You would think that my lack of children would keep me from purchasing this like crazy, but thanks to nieces, nephew, and all my friends' children that are pooping up all over the place, it is a safe bet that my money will remain at Target.

My Dream Child

1.) With my new job, came a new classroom. Instead of being on the third floor (the top floor) of my school, I am now on the second floor. The problem? The classroom above me uses dice... A LOT! And I can hear every. single. time. they roll they. Note: Buy that classroom foam dice for Christmas.

2.) I work with children all day. I love my job, I really do. Yet, I am amazed there are people who take care of children longer than seven hours a day. These people are called parents.

When I do brave the world of parenthood, I want my kids to be:
  • potty-trained
  • clean
  • quiet
  • well-behaved
  • flatulent free
I think these children from Vogue Enfants will do...
"Why yes Mommy, I will walk our dog down our cobblestoned driveway in my perfect outfit."

"Oh, you have a headache, Mommy? We will quiet ourselves by reading under a tree."

"Why yes, even at age six, a finger over the mouth can quiet a baby."

"Of course I practice ballet in a striped blazer!"

Who am I kidding? Let me introduce you to my future bean...

Creeptastic

Fendi debuted their first line of children's clothing. Overall, pretty cute, over-priced children's fashion. (I am sure when I have children I will spend hundreds of dollars on clothing for my prodigies to finger paint on.)

Scarlett

Adorable/ You could buy this look at Gap Kids without spending an entire week's worth of income.

Kelly Rutherford made an appearance and, by the looks of it, her little Hermes is super mortified to be a male model.

Finally, how disturbing is this...
